Essay:
Ajaunie has been instrumental in supporting our program by hosting students during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Fall 2020 semester. He is the owner of a small private practice that was greatly impacted by the pandemic. However, although his caseload dropped significantly he was still able to host students and give them the hands-on clinical education they needed. Keeping his staff, patients, and student's safety in mind, Ajaunie made sure that everyone had and wore PPE at all times when in the clinic. During gaps in the schedule, Ajaunie and the students created case scenarios and practiced on each other while Ajaunie demonstrated treatment techniques, observed them perform those techniques and gave feedback as necessary. At the end of the internship the students were extremely happy with the experience and knowledge they received from Ajaunie.
