Gretchen Pond is a Physical Therapist Assistant who has been practicing for well over 20+ years in various practice settings. She has been dedicated to taking NVCC students for all levels of clinical education experiences for over 10+ years and consistently has at minimum two NVCC students per year. Ms. Pond has a genuine interest in supporting the students in a successful transition from the academia to the clinic. Despite the challenges of productivity and reimbursement the clinicians face daily, Gretchen continues to give back to the profession through her consistent support of clinical education. She has the ability to assist the students not only with progression of the clinical skills, but focuses very well on their ability to critically think, develop necessary communication skills, and professional behaviors which will allow the students to excel as an entry-level therapist. Not only does she support clinical internships, but is involved with lab days in which NVCC brings current students onsite for an introduction to the clinic. She has served as a mentor to new clinical instructors in the field as well. Gretchen is very well deserving of this award.
