Essay:
Kim Prentice was a graduate of our PTA program. Since graduation and her employment at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Kim has always given back to the program by being a clinical instructor every year for our clinical 2 placements. Kim not only takes a student, but she uses the 2:1 model and takes 2 students from our program. Feedback from student's consistently comment that Kim is a wonderful teacher and knowledgeable clinician. She is patient, caring, smart and understands and always remembers what it was like to be a student. She provides supervision as needed, but allows students to work independently to develop critical thinking skills. She is always available to help out as needed and last year took time out of her busy schedule to be a guest speaker for our Introduction to Clinical Education course. It is such an honor to present this award to Kim. Our program and students are lucky to have her as clinical faculty.
