Jamie has been a longstanding CI for BCC students and is well-deserving of recognition for her commitment, ingenuity and clinical instruction. Jamie creates dynamic learning experiences by balancing challenge, encouragement, and clear learning expectations. This summer, 2020, Jamie accepted a student for clinical education I placement. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the PTA student was required to participate remotely. Jamie, provided learning opportunities that exceeded clinical expectations. She made the most of developing critical thinking and clinically-based treatments/activities for this student. The activities included developing goal-based treatments specific for the specific student; developing ROM program and teaching to staff remotely; developing appropriate developmental games. Jamie included discussions after sessions, which challenged the student to critically think and apply rationale. Jamie organized all of this with a short lead-in time. Though a very atypical learning experience, Jamie provided a highly organized and focused clinical learning environment.
