Essay:
Larry Scafuri is the true definition of a great PTA and instructor. Immediately, Larry set the tone for the clinical experience and what is expected of me as the student. He went above and beyond to continue to educate me during my time at New England Orthopedic Surgeons of Springfield. When we were not working with patients, Larry acted as a patient and instructed me in many techniques and procedures, or he was demonstrating with learning models they have at the facility. There was always an open line of communication on how I was performing throughout the rotation. I had the opportunity to meet several surgeons and sit in on multiple surgeries. Larry always carried himself in a professional manner and provided exceptional care to his patients. He set the tone for who I would like to be as an acting clinician. It is my pleasure to nominate Larry Scafuri for the New England Physical Therapist Assistant Consortium Clinical Facility Award.
