Steve is a 2008 graduate from the PTA program at the Community College of RI. Steve works in the inpatient unit at the Miriam Hospital and has supervised one CCRI PTA student each year since 2011. He is a credentialed clinical instructor and employs the knowledge from this course in his supervision style with students. Steve is clear in communicating his expectations to students. He is an excellent judge of student clinical performance and level of professionalism and is able to accurately reflect this performance areas on the student performance evaluation, as well as communicating with CCRI faculty members. He is able to write measurable behavioral objectives, and goes out of his way to create learning experiences for students. This year Steve expertly managed a challenging situation with a student. He completed all required documentation and worked closely with the academic faculty to ensure appropriate actions were taken, and that student performance was closely monitored and reported on with respect to a learning contract that was set up. Despite any challenges that Steve is faced with, he maintains professionalism and objectivity during all interactions with students and faculty, and remains steadfast in his commitment to excellence in clinical teaching.
