Nominating Statement:
Eric Goldberg is a physical therepist with over 25 years of experience and is currently the Director of Physical Therapy and co-owner of Performance Physical Therapy with offices in Revere and Chelsea. Eric has demonstrated repeated and exceptional support of Bay State College's Clinical Experiences, both as a CI and the facilities CCCE. Eric embodies the goals of clinical experiences by demonstrating effective instruction to specific learning needs and levels through meaningful learning experiences. Of particular note is Eric's ability to provide exceptional remediation opportunities for students that require additional guidance, time and mentorship. Eric has demonstrated skill and commitment in the management of exceptional student clinical learning experiences and provides his own staff with the tools to excell as Clinical Instructors. Eric has also been able to provide some of these experiences at a week's notice, with great openness, flexibility and prepared to support students with successful completion of their Clinical Experience. This year in particular, he has provided a student with additional time in clinic, meeting the student's needs and providing a memorable learning experience. Bay State College is grateful to Eric for his clinical partnership.

Stacy Potvin has been a valued clinical partner of Bay State College’s PTA Program for decades. She is a Physical Therapy Assistant III at the Outpatient Rehabilitation Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and provides services for a wide variety of patient populations and includes aquatic therapy in her skill set. In addition, Stacy has a BS in Physical Education and a BA in English/Communication and was an Adjunct Faculty member at Bay State College from 2016-2018. She is the PTA Representative to the MA Board of Allied Health and is currently the Vice Chair of the Board. Stacy has been hosting students for at least 22 years and is skilled at providing Clinical Instruction in a 2:1 Collaborative Learning Model, which BIDMC has used in their Clinical Education Program since 1994. Providing this model for our students has been integral in the success of clinical programming and speaks to Stacy’s commitment to excellence in the field. Students report that Stacy is an excellent resource and guide during their Clinical Experience and a recent student commented that Stacy “was always available and she did not hesitate to provide constructive feedback, pushing me out of my comfort zone. She is very passionate about her job”. She is highly recommended by our Bay State students and is known to challenge our students, fostering confidence in their skills as future PTA’s. It is with gratitude and pride that we nominate Stacy Potvin for NEPTAC’s Clinical Faculty Award for 2020.

Nominating Statement:
Jennifer Flanagan Pintal attended North Shore Community College and graduated from the PTA program in 1995. She began working at D'Youville Life and Wellness Community in May of 2009, first starting as a per diem clinician and then transitioning to full time. Jennifer has experience in a variety of settings including outpatient home services, acute care and short and long term rehabilitation. Jen integrates all that she has learned throughout her career providing thorough education to her patients and to aspiring PTA students as well. She is always willing to be a clinical instructor for our PTA students and provides a wonderful clinical learning experience. She is always helpful and supportive, provides guidance to each student while allowing them the opportunity to develop clinical reasoning and problem solving skills. Jen is easy going and flexible and continually maintains a professional relationship with her patients. It is a pleasure to nominate her for a clinical faculty award.
